Here is the 27th chapter, some truths are revealed as well as reunions and a little foreshadoing by Kiri.


Drakenfoxes belong to  Snowfyre

The sun crept up lighting up the forest and waking the animals of the day. Their cries replacing the cries of the nocturnal ones as they went to sleep. But for me, Kiri and Rita we haven’t really slept that night as we continued on our way, towards what we hope was a settlement of some kind. Rita was surprised when I introduced Kiri to her, asking how she was on the planet after I said that she wasn’t part of the crew.

She chuckled as Rita was again trying to understand. “Rita, there are something’s in the universe that science and technology can’t explain. You can’t truly have explored the universe until you explore the unknown” she said, as I smiled. Kiri may act young, but she was smarter then she seemed. “Very true Kiri. I know there are lots of mysteries out there that I wouldn’t mind trying my hand at solving. Of course, I don’t expect to solve any if not that much of them, but I still will try.

Kiri looked over at me and smiled. “I know that you got someone watching you Jack. Not sure who, but I do know that much” she said. I blinked at her, knowing she can be a bit cryptic at times. “Well, maybe they will reveal themselves at the right time huh?” I asked looking at Kiri. She giggled and nodded as we walked.

Soon a popping noise was heard as we looked around for it. “A Drakenfox” Rita said causing me to look slightly to the left. Standing there was indeed a Drakenfox, this one being a blue and green colour. It looked at us, before chirping and running off in the direction it appeared in. “I say we follow it” Kiri said looking at us. “Well, it could be possible Serra sent it. She does seem to have some connection or control over them” I said as I nodded in agreement. We followed the Drakenfox; I was hoping it would help us lead to the others.


“So really, you came here by a ship and got shot down?” Eluna asked as she walked by Gem’s side. The Frost Equinix as she called her species was being pretty close to the coyote. Gem was wondering if it was like part of her customs or something. “Yeah, I hope they are alright” Gem said as they walked. “Well the settlement should be this way” Eluna replied. “And when we get there, I am guessing discuss payment for this help?” Gem asked. Eluna smiled a bit and nod, “Don’t worry it’s not too bad.”

A drakenfox appeared in front of them and looked at them as it sat in the road. “Aww, how cute” Gem said as she looked at it. “Careful, Drakenfoxes are known to act cute while others take stuff” Eluna said as she looked at it too. The Drakenfox stood up and ran off towards the settlement. “I guess we should follow it, that’s what I think it what’s us to do” Gem said, before she started to run after it. Eluna sighed and ran too. ‘Well at least she also looks good while she runs’ she thought to herself, as she eyed Gem running.


The sun was almost fully in the sky now when our small group reached the settlement. I stopped to pant as I caught my breath. Running from that creature in the void and now running after the Drakenfox made me think. ‘Yeah, definitely going to see if Freya can put in a gym or something’ I thought.

After I had caught my breath we walked further into the town. And I got to say the people of this world, I would say were alien. I don’t mean like the humans and anthros we have seen, but I mean they looked alien. Their skin was in different shades of purple, their mouths being beak like. A crest/fin on their head which seemed to be able to open and close replaced hair. Their eyes were a solid colour, no signs of pupils. Three fingers and thumb on their hands, and what looked like two toes on their feet. ‘Yeah, these guys are definitely alien’ I thought to myself, not helping myself but to smile.

“Well we made it to this place, thanks to the Drakenfox” I said as I pulled out a berry. Bending down I gently placed it in front of the little creature and stood up. It gave off a noise, that I guessing it was happy before starting to eat the berry. I smiled before turning back to those with me. “Well this should be it. I guess we should find out where they are” I said before starting to walk into the town a bit more.


Gem and Eluna walked into the town as they looked around. “Well you were right; the Drakenfox did lead us here. Though I knew it was here” Eluna said looking at Gem. The coyote looked at her and nodded, “Ok. But let’s look for my friends.” Eluna just shrugged and followed as Gem searched the town.

The search didn’t take too long as Kiri was the first to spot Gem. “Hey Gem” she shouted out, causing me to look over. “Kiri! Didn’t know you were back” Gem said as she came over. “Yeah, was trying something my mother showed me, when I ran into Jack” she said looking up at me. “Yeah, little trip into the Void” I said as I chuckled a bit. I smiled and stepped forward, wrapping my arms around Gem in a hug. “Good to see you again” I said as I gave her a kiss. “Thanks Jack. This is Eluna, I met in the woods” the coyote said gesturing to the slightly stunned Eluna. ‘I was hoping she didn’t have a boyfriend. Well I will try my best to get her’ she thought and walked forward. “Gem was in the woods by herself, so I decided to help. Now Gem, as payment for the help, I say a dinner with me” she said smiling at Gem.

I had a feeling she might have an interest in Gem. “Well, I guess you can come with us. Do you have a ship?” I asked. Eluna smiled and nod, “I do. I might be able to fit it into your ship once we find it.” She seemed pretty happy at this, so yeah she must be trying to get closer to Gem. “Well, sure. Once we find ours you can park yours in our hanger bay” I said to her.

I let go of Gem as I smiled at her. The moment I let go, I heard a voice just shout out in happiness, “YAAY!” Next thing I knew I was on the ground, tackled by something. I chuckled as I shifted to look behind me. “Hey Freya. It seems you found us as well” I said as I looked at the white furred serpent. “Yeah, we were led here by a Drakenfox” Christie said as she walked over towards us.

I smiled again as I sat up, and with Gem’s help, stood up. “Seems like everyone is here or nearly” I said as I looked at the group around us, Alruna would more than likely be still in the hanger. I looked at Freya and noticed she seemed longer. “I guess another growth spurt?” I asked. “Yeah, but I am not sure if it added another deck or if I just got longer” she said. I looked at the others and saw only surprise on Eluna. “Well, guess the reports were true” Rita said looking at Christie. “Would I lie to you?” she asked looking back at Rita.

I stepped between the two of them. “Wait, what’s going on?” I asked looking from one to the other. Rita and Christie exchanged a look and nodded. “Jack, I am a member of the Pirate Armada. I been sending messages to her, as I looked for possible allies” Christie said as she looked at all of us, awaiting to hear what we would say to that or react.
