A gift for my friend
sournote103, hope you like it man. ^^
Rerim wants a Poro champion, so when he makes one up he doesn't expected to be contacted by the makers with a compromise in store...
I hope you all enjoy, and I would love to hear what you all think! ^_^
Finishing another game of league with his friends, Rerim sighed as he stared at some Poro fan art that he had found on Furaffinity. “There needs to be a Poro champion…” he muttered, typing in a few more keywords as he tried to find more Poro art. He had noticed some suggestions for Poro champs on the forums, and though he’d voiced his approval on the forums according to the makers they weren’t really planning on it anytime soon.
“Rerim, going to sleep. G’night,” he saw a message from Tiran, and he messaged back saying good night back and leaned in his chair as he pulled out his tablet.
Some ideas had popped in Rerim’s mind about a Poro champion, so quickly listing out some abilities on the side of a blank page in Photoshop he started to sketch up a picture of what he thought to be the perfect Poro champion. He drew it big and fluffy with horns on top of his head, giving it a sort of satyr look he nodded a few times as he looked at his initial design. Just looking at the design made him more pleased, and he started to sketch more feeling like his hand was coming alive from just sketching the drawing of the Poro champ he found time starting to slip away as he did drawings and redraws of the champ trying to perfect him.
Trying the Poro with his tongue out… tongue in… muscles… and chubbier… it was an effort, but the whole time Rerim didn’t feel discouraged as he designed this champ. As he finished he smiled as he leaned back once more, the Poro had a slim build, and was dressed in simple monk garb. Designing some of his attacks he had made sure that the Poro could be an ADC with self-sufficient buffs, and though he felt like Udyr at first he made him different by adding in some buffs on ARAM. Whenever his champ was near other Poro he’d gain some buffs, and they’d follow him to do some attacks.
His ult actually summoned a large Poro mount that he had sketched up alongside the champ, and he thought about the name. “Par, the Poro,” he said, and then got to writing a backstory. Braum had been his father of sorts when the man had found him freezing, his mother having left him as he wasn’t exactly like the other Poro. He was more human, and he was able to think in more human terms.
Braum had fathered him into being strong, though as a Poro they had found out that Par wasn’t as good as growing muscles, but he was very powerful. Many times Par had forced Braum off of his feet, and he made the man laugh with joy for his adopted son. Braum had been taken away though to join into a battle of sorts, and for a long time Par was left alone with the Poro that didn’t accept him at first. Though he proved himself during one winter where beastly animals had attacked the Poro, and Par had proved himself by defending them against the creatures. Not soon after that Par was taken to fight aside his father once more, grinning proudly as he stood aside Braum to fight against evil forces.
“Finished,” Rerim said, yawning as he stretched out and saved the file. Quickly he made a forum post on League’s website, naming it Par the Poro champ, and uploaded the picture to FA as well before heading off to sleep.
In the morning Rerim had awoken to find his skype box full of compliments on the amazing champ, and he smiled in self-satisfaction as he opened up his email. There he saw an email from League’s dev team, and opening it he started to read the message. “Dear Sournote103, we’ve received your submission for a new League champion, and we have to say that we’re impressed. We would like very much for you to send another picture, so if you would just click the link below it’ll give specifications that we’ll need to bring this champion into the game.”
Rerim felt his skin shiver in excitement as he clicked the link, and his screen flashed black. “Huh…?” Rerim asked, and he smacked his computer once… twice… three times. “Come on! Turn back on,” he shouted, and suddenly the screen flooded with blue sparks. “Wh… what?” he asked, and suddenly he was sucked right into his computer screen. Sparks played across his skin making it tingle as he was pulled into another world, the air changing from the warm temperature of his room to the cold of somewhere else.
Landing on the ground finally, Rerim coughed as he realized how cold it was. “W… wh… where am I?” he asked, shivering as he stood up. He noticed a small puff of white at his feet, and kneeling down his eyes widened as he recognized it. “A Poro?” he asked, and the little creature gave a little squeak of happiness. “Oh my god… you’re adorable,” he said, picking it up and hugging it tightly.
“Sournote103!” a voice rang from above, and Rerim stood up to look around him. “Your character has been chosen to join our game, but to do that we need someone to become that character. Who better than the very creator to become his creation? Prepare to change into Par the Poro champion,” the voice announced, and a circle of sparks flooded around Rerim though he tried to smack them away.
“No! I didn’t want to become Par, I wanted to… blech…. Blech…” he coughed out sparks, and noticed that his tongue was starting to stick out Par’s own. “Nuuu…” he groaned, trying to get used to the feeling. From his head his hair started to bleach white, and horns started to peak out of his hair. “Stup et,” he muttered, trying to smack away the sparks but he was starting to grow taller into the tall Poro that he had made.
“Congratulations on becoming our new champion,” the voice said, almost mockingly as Par… Rerim shook his head.
“I dun’t want thes…” he said, and suddenly he remembered lying in the cold snow… left by his mother… and then Braum came. The giant man took him up in his arms and cradled him back to warmth… he even dressed the tiny Poro in his own shirt while the cold struck his own body without flinching. “Braum…” he muttered, remembering new memories that he’d written up himself.
Riding a giant Poro for the first time had been very exciting for Par, watching as the snow rushed past as he was able to ride while standing on top of his kin’s back. Par had impressed his father, and had even started to train in martial arts. Through scrolls he learned how to use special mantras to protect himself, and his allies if they needed. Many times when he and Braum had been dangerous he had buffed them defensively, and Braum had blocked massive attacks with his shield while Par smashed the enemy down.
White fur traveled across Rerim’s body, his body being covered in fluffy white down, and his eyes becoming shiny and black. His mouth started to form into a smile, feeling the light heartedness of Par setting in, being a Poro had given him a kinder heart than a lot of champions had. His horns grew in long and winding, and a craving for Poro snacks came into Par’s stomach. The new Poro champion patted his stomach as he thought about eating some, and suddenly he felt a hand on his arm as his clothes became monk robes. His feet had become hooves, and so they clopped as they slapped across the stone of the bridge. “Father!” he said, looking into Braum’s warm eyes.
“So you’ve joined in on the battle my beloved son,” Braum said, and the pair embraced as a new screenshot of Par appeared up on League’s website, and outside of the game Rerim’s friends cheered as they saw their friend’s character appear, not aware that he had become his own creation, but he was very happy as he walked back with Poros bouncing behind him and his dad.
