I can't come up with a name for them but I have a bunch of info on them already. /weeps
I wanted to expand the world of the Jeracals and add a bunch of beasts and things that are native to their world. I don't plan on making adopts of these things so if you want to create your own have at it I guess. Pfft I really don't care as these are just NPC beasts for whenever I get that lovely RP group set up. ( Which will be when there is more interest in my adopt species.. namely the Jeracals. > A < )
About this critter:
~ Super large! Stick man down there is about 6ft tall.
~ Live in super gas covered swamps, bogs, and some times even lakes and marshes.
~ Mostly aquatic but doesn't/can't swim. It's just large yo.
~ Has 6 nostrils... the better to smell you with. Good for breathing in the thick wet air in their environment.
~ Eats just about anything but mostly carrion, swamp muck, fish, toxic sludge... nasty junk... and roots and rotting trees.
~After eating it'll just sit there digesting whatever and then vomits it all back up in a thick sludge. The sludge is very nutritious for plant life and insects. A by product of it however is adding to the smog that surrounds where it lives.
~ The fur on the neck and shoulders is mostly gas.
~ It smells like a rotting corpse.
~ It has 6 eyes but sees only in black, white, and grey and even then it's kinda blurry.
~ Favorite past time is just laying in the muck.
~ It's vocals sounds more like a loud drum or a low booming rumble type noise.
~ Tail is used to whack down old trees to get at their roots. Also used to help from sinking.
~ Very laid back and slow creature. More inclined to eat what's there then to actively look for food or catch it. But because of it's size it's not that hard to catch up to small creatures that can't run fast.
~ Usually covered in muck and nasty mud junk so it can blend in quite well. If a traveling group isn't put off by the smell they might find themselves being the lunch for one as you can walk past it without seeing it. The mist/smog also helps bring down visibility.
~ Travelers often have a saying "If the swamp is gassy be careful.. if the swamp is smelly it's better to find a different route."
~ Solitary critters and will only get the urge to breed only every few years when the temperatures are hotter and wetter then average for that year.
~ They lay three eggs in a dry-ish area and then vomit on them. No parental care.
~ They live around 300 years if not killed.
~ Most tribes leave them alone but generations ago back when there was many wild Jeracals they would gather together and kill or drive the beast from the area. Due to this the population of these beasts are a lot fewer then they used to be.
~ After the domestication of Jeracals there are no known hunters that actively seek the beast out since the explosive magic of the wild Jeracals were strong enough to kill them. Only Dragons and Elves have the power to do so now but there isn't a real need to do so as they are not active hunting beasts. Elves recently have been fighting to preserve the beast's habitat as they are very beneficial to the environment. Dragons don't compete with their food source so there isn't a need to kill them.
I need to come up with a name for these guys. These were inspired by Megalodon and Elephants.

I'm all stuck on super arms... XD But I really liked how they looked on this critter. When I first doodled it I tried to get it to look like what was in my dream... which basically was just a head thrashing around as thousands of tiny Jeracals attacked it like Gulliver's travels but most of the critter was under swamp water. > A < Hints of this or that would appear... shark like tail... and elephant like feet but the nails were sharper. Also fluff type thing wrapped around the neck/chest area.
