Here is chapter 25, introducing the last of the 3 characters I plan to introduce in JNL, before more come in during Mystery of the Nexians. No newsreel this time, couldn't think of any. Anyway enjoy.
And this is the first appearance of Eluna in any stories of mine, hope to upload a picture of her soon.

Gem paused as she looked around, the forest and the alien sky was all she can see. She turned and looked back the way she came; the clearing was at least a mile or two behind her. She had come too in the clearing, and put together, something happened.
The coyote looked around and started to again in the same direction, knowing if something happened, the crew would try to go to a settlement. I mean, that’s what she would do. Luckily all the time with Calliapin and Kolt gave her a good sense of direction, even in a place she had never been before.
She walked down what seemed to be a path, one that doesn’t get much use further in. Her hands resting on her revolvers as she kept an eye out. Her nose sniffing the air for any familiar scent, as her ears twitched. Nothing happened, just the alien scents and the sounds of alien creatures.
The breeze blew the leaves of the trees, as she started to walk again. Gem reached up to see if her hat was still on her head. She smiled a bit as she walked more, her hand going back to the revolvers. She was always on alert, even more now that she was separated from the others. She didn’t know what dangers could be out there.
She paused a bit, as a sound come over the noise of the local wildlife. A humming, droning noise as a craft passed overhead. Oblong shaped, the craft flew low and quick. ‘Possibly it was a patrol craft of some kind’ Gem thought as it flew overhead and out of sight.
She watched it fly, wondering just what was happening on the planet. She remembered that Freya was forced down and that she must have activated a teleporter of some kind and separated them all by mistake. Gem didn’t know where she ended up, but she just hopped she can find the others and Jack before something happens.
She walked for an hour more, before she rested against a tree and panted a bit. The path had not broken off into any trails yet, but neither had it showed signs of civilization at all. The sun of this world had started to set and she didn’t know the dangers of this world. ‘Good thing, I have stayed up all night several times’ Gem said as she watched it set.
The sky darkened as the stars came out, the planets glowing softly from the sun as it sunk below the horizon. Her eyes travelled up and saw several lights moving in the sky. She guessed it was ships in orbit around the planet. She remembered that, large ships, ones that Christie identified as Battle Cruisers in a blockade formation around the planet. They never really hit Freya as they fired on her. They went more to bring her down, after that, Gem can’t remember how they all became separated. She shook her head as she stood back up and continued onwards down the path.
The sound of nocturnal animals echoed in the air, as the coyote walked. She paused to hide under trees or bushes, as the Oblong Patrol Crafts flew overhead, searching for something. She had guessed a while back, they were from the battle cruisers. She had no desire to be caught, by whoever was on them, so she hid when she heard the noise.
After the last one flew over head she moved from the bushes, bending down to pick up her hat and placed it back on her head. “Well, don’t get many people out at night with the patrols going” a voice said from above Gem, causing her to freeze. She turned slowly and looked up, seeing someone sitting in the branch.
She looked like a unicorn mixed with a bird, possibly a phoenix. Her body was mostly covered in light blue fur, with white fur starting from the bottom of her face, covering most of her front torso to her thighs. The scruff of fur around her neck as well as her wings, the three feathers on her head in place of hair and the feathers around her tail were a lighter blue. While her tail, hooves, horn, beak and two markings on the sides of her face were a dark blue. Yellow eyes watched Gem, googles sat on her head, just under her horn. A Dark grey top crossed over and covered her breasts, as a cloth of the same kind looking like underwear covered her lower parts, along with half a skirt, that separated at the front. Cloth of Dark Grey and blue covered her forearms.
“Well, why are you out?” she asked again. Despite the light only coming from the stars and planets, she seemed to be able to see Gem well. “Trying to find the nearest settlement” she said simply. “Hmm, you’re not from this planet are you?” the phoenix/unicorn asked. “No, the ship I was on was forced down. I got separated from my crew; I am hoping we are at least in the same area and heading to the same town. That is if I am going to one” Gem said.
The phoenix nodded as she thought, before smiling after a second. “Well, just so happens, I am a Trader, I can help you. For a price that is” she said as she flapped her wings and flew next to the coyote. “Ah, sure, but I don’t know if I have anything to pay” Gem said as she watched her land. “We can figure it out after we get there and meet up with your friends again. By the way, what’s your name?” she asked looking at her.
“It’s Gem.”
“Just Gem, no other parts of your name?”
“Yeah, just Gem. What’s yours?” She asked looking at the phoenix. “Oh, well I am Eluna'eshen Icefeather. I am a Frost Equinix. But you can call me Eluna for short most do” Eluna said with a smile. Gem nodded and smiled back a bit, “Nice to meet you, Eluna.” “Likewise Gem, now shall we get going?” she asked as the coyote nodded. The two set up, wary of patrols as they headed for the town.
Gem hoped to find the others there, but neither knew of the danger that was also heading for the town, in search of the Pirate Queen.
