D'aww. This is a most adorable concept. It makes one wonder if Chrysalis' desire for love as power comes from a deep seated need for love in which she didn't get enough of as a child?

There's a part of me that often wonders if maybe Princess Celestia is behind the creation of the Changelings? Like she got so tired of outliving those she befriended so she used some magic to create a companion to make up for her sister being banished by her own hand?

Though the spell was a backfire and created Chrysalis. Celestia being afraid to share what she had done banished Chrysalis to the far reaches of Equestria in hopes no pony would know of her folly. Unfortunately Chrysalis found a way to gain Alicorn-like power while using the mirror pool Pinkie knew of to clone herself so she could have her own nation of minions who would be at her side to make up for the solitude in which Celestia caused.

Bottom line: Don't mess with childhoods. If a childhood is disrupted one may not turn out at all as well as (s)he could.

Thanks Yosh-E-O, I've often wondered about Chrysalis' origins as well. I would think she was good at one point in her life, but something caused her to be evil.
