For the lovely
Skippy
I REALLY wanted to do something involving extreme perspective (especially after looking at a bunch of Bruce Lee pictures for inspiration), but nothing I drew came out looking halfway decent... damn you foreshortening!!!!
Anyhooo, here's Ty practicing some moves. Opponents beware! Rabbits can disembowel enemies with a good kick!

nice use of perspective. He really looks like he`s IN ACTION and that's hard to do. most of my work is overly-detailed headshots that leave much to be desired so when I see something like this I cant help but admire the positioning and form and just the real THOUGHT put into it. You did a great job and it looks fantastic.
I feel your pain regarding foreshortening; it continues to be the bane of my existence. If I may offer a really nice tutorial video here, there's a method called the "coil technique" that helps you envision everything more easily in 3D: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJWLaDSNBAI I've actually been doing something very similar to that since my teens, but I had no idea that video existed till recently. It's 16 minutes long but well worth the watch! I don't want to sound pushy or anything, I just like sharing helpful resources with other artists and I know that foreshortening can really irk a lot of creators trying to make dynamic, realistic figures.
That being said, I think you did an excellent job foreshortening his right leg and how natural you made him look as he balances on his left; looks like there is real weight behind the impending kick.

Thank you!
I'm very grateful my friend allowed me to sift through a bunch of her class photos and took the time to talk to me about the mechanics of kicking.
I've actually tried and had previous success with the coil technique, I think this issue was more a matter of foreshortening a digitgrade leg (especially that long rabbit foot) just wasn't working out too well. Mostly where the ankle connected was where it all fell apart. I might have to just devote some more time to studying that kind of leg set up to gain a bit more confidence.
