The Light Cruiser is a massive vessel, built solely for combat. Comprised of multiple layers of reinforced armor, the Cruiser is built to survive situations that would doom smaller ships.

Being an important battlefield target, the Light Cruiser is gifted with an arsenal which rivals that of the Destroyer class. Four hundred and fourteen point-defense turrets protect the Light Cruiser from small threats, as well as several hangers full of fighter and bomber craft. Thirty-eight rail guns, four multi-missile launchers, and a quartet of light plasma cannons help to deal with larger threats. But the Light Cruiser's main source of destruction is the singular magnetic accelerator cannon built into the nose of the ship, which fires large projectiles at a fraction of the speed of light.

Primary and secondary shields add extra defense to the Light Cruiser. Its thirty-five engine setup allows for FTL capabilities and provides good speed, despite the ship's size. Unlike most military vessels, the bridge, communications, and targeting control center are located near the stern.
