This is the 2nd completed portrait of my fursona that I've actually liked (after quite a few that I didn't like).
After coloring and highlighting the eyes, I like them a lot better now, but I still think they could be better.
Some day, maybe, I'd like to start up my own comic strip, and it seems to me that character eyes would be really important. I would need to make eyes in a way that I liked and that would allow me to show may different forms of expression.
I really like how Eric Schwartz (http://www.sabrina-online.com) does his character eyes, as well as Susan Rankin (http://www.doemain.com). But I don't want to just blatantly copy their work...
(sigh) keep practicing.
