I can hardly cut this with a razor blade. Thankfully I have never heard of a hamster escaping from a bin cage.

dang, my hamster was an escape artist. Chewed through a screen, 1/2" plywood, a plastic cage [kinda like what you have] and even a little bit of metal for freedom. Never understood why she went through such crazy lengths to get out, Always put fresh food and water in and changed the bedding often. during her last escape attempt she made it into my landlords apartment and lived quite nicely till her cat got her v.v

My hamster used to escape from its old cage, I don't even know how. She dosen't do that anymore. When hamsters get a crapton of space they don't escape for some reason.
