while on full load we discovered a loose bolt, in the few seconds it took for the protection to shut the system down, a 12" section of 4" x 3/4" copper bar was vaporised.

Its harf for me to tell which one was the copper bar, but thats why I stick to 12V systems, less chances of getting burned...

It is all copper except the bolts, it was ~5000v at quite a current, we keep this as a momento

It could have been worse. Every time I see this video, I realize at least 400 pounds of metal get vaporized in an instant.
