- colour ruff of an old tiny pencil pic....
Colour from some months ago and onward...will get back to it soon as i have time....
Pencil was generic sort of thing, but when i did colour i realized it was a memory, so to speak, of my bachelor days in Hollywood in the 80's,...Lady is a sort of mix of some girlfriends, and that was a old early 60's European Tux i had (black satin trim, not red, artistic licence and all)...Was rather well-off during animation career, so background is sort of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc...original idea of pencil was a 30's sort of feel...
....anyhoo, left all that, no regrets, to have wife and kids thingy 20 yrs ago....Some rough times, but no deathly disasters....
...still sort of fun to think back on old times....i wuz an impoverished punk rocker before that....and a hippie kid before....life is long and winding...
pencil approx 3 in tall

Thanks!
Re small size of pencil - back in teens i went through a year or two of only doing tiny little art - like miniatures - then transitioned to painting 4 ft and such size stuff...then went into animation biz layouts then models with drawing size around 6 - 12 inch for years....then to development - back to larger stuff...then to storyboard where the panels were around 3x4 in - sometime more, - sometimes less! So i got used to working at all sizes....
i usually prefer to start with a small thumbnail, toss around various compositions etc, then blow it up big for finishing....and then it gets shrunk down for online posting

Kind of weird though - some folks didn't like it i guess....three fairly recent watchers unwatched me...unless they left FA or something...somethings remain mysteries
i was thinking of the finished version as having a sort of 30's art-deco feel...some detail to background, maybe a bit of Leyendecker style like this:

Then giving most of the pic a sort of soft light/ soft focus thing again after the detail....
