Is that thing she's leaning against a Norfair block or something? That's all i can think of; I don't recognize it at all as a Super Metroid object. It does remind me of those cocoon things in Fusion though; the ones that turn into a big fleshy pillar if an X manages to get to it.

Either way, damn that Shriekebat came a bit close for comfort.

Oh, those are Skrees. Shriekbats are a Metroid Prime thing. My mistake. I also forgot that they explode after burrowing into the surface they hit. She's going to feel that one in the morning.

They are those cocoon things that when shot with missiles it pops small insects out xP I don't know the exact name at the moment. They're on crateria and I think there's some on brinstar as well.
