Not weird at all my friend, it's quite common amongst folks with low self esteem. And I'm noteworthy for having "tragically low self esteem".
Just ask folks I know, I can accomplish all kinds of things and still have low esteem.
Also I tend not to smile openly a lot because I'm self-conscious about my teeth. x.x

Exactly, animal therapy is very real and very beneficial to many people Interacting with animals can also reduce blood pressure as well as cortisone, a hormone associated with anxiety. I definitely feel at peace when I'm with such adorable creatures, not to mention I interact with a sweet fox at a local sanctuary as well. So much cuteness!
It's not crazy at all. Deep within us all is a desire to be loved. And to share love between two separate species shows a spiritual awakening, reminding us that we are all spirits beneath these temporary, fleeting bodies. ^w^ Love is a beautiful thing, and all the more so when it crosses the boundaries of appearances, biases and status.
That is my opinion on it, and I'm sure many would find that far more crazy than yours. :3

Not at all Ever since 2012, when I first learned and began my interaction with exotic animals, I've felt a connection with them, that I seem to easily begin to form bonds of trust. Like Skitter, she may not be my fox, but despite that, I feel her love. Heck, same with the other foxes I get to interact with, whenever I start petting their heads, stroking their ears and seeing their cheeky vulpine smiles, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and is an excellent way to relieve stress and anxiety (numerous positive chemical changes in our brains). I hope to be a fox owner one of these days, as I know many already who have success, but is still is a lot of hard work. Animals are therapeutic
