Despite his confident air of superiority, I placed my hand on his chest with an amused smirk knowing this show by now. He was trying to keep me away from him, but I could tell that was the opposite of what he wanted. My friends constantly questioned why I let him treat me like I was beneath him, like I was the one who had problems. I couldn't tell them the truth, though I figured Jackie had already guessed.

Despite the Doberman's bullying, I did like him, and had suspicions that he felt similar even if he was clearly still in the closet about it all. So for now, I allowed my digits to ghost across his chest teasingly as I walked past him and his disapproving gaze. I knew he'd follow behind with a frustrated growl before walking away. That small bit of power over him gave me a small sense of satisfaction. He cared enough to be bothered by me and that was better than feeling nothing at all.
