The Skylion are gryphon-like aliens native to the terran planet, Hada.

The other species see them as being "space knights", due to their reputation as warriors, their monarchy government and their naturally honorable personality. They are honest and diligent, upholding their virtues and taking pride in whatever they do. However, they also have a dry wit and become impatient if someone impedes them or wastes their time which leads others to think they are devoid of all humor and extremely short-tempered. Those who understand the nature of the Skylions know that this is untrue and find them to be loyal and valiant friends or companions.

Their homeworld is the only known source of Soulstone, a very rare, beautiful and expensive gemstone. The Skylion see no value to this stone and see its only purpose as being a valuable export to the other species, so most don't understand the "greedy and foolish aliens" that selfishly try to acquire this stone. Especially since illegal exports of this stone has caused fair amount of bloodshed. Needless to say, mines and caverns that are known to contain soulstone are very heavily guarded.

I spent so much time going back and forth on this species design. I mostly centered around something that looked like a gryphon/dragon hybrid, but in the end decided to scrap that idea and go for a full-on anthro gryphon. Since most species in my galaxy are reflections of different parts of myself, it seemed to fit so much better. Plus I can recycle some of my anthro gryphon characters that I haven't found a use for since I switched to mostly science fiction in my personal art and give them a new purpose in my fictional galaxy

They come in a variety of colors... pretty much and color and pattern seen on a cat (big or small) is fair game for the colors and markings of a Skylion character. Their eye color greatly varies and their ears can come in different shapes. Also, the back of the head can either be maned or have a crest of feathers, so they'll be pretty customizable as soon as I make them an open species.

The character that is shown in the picture will be a personal character of mine after I have completely hammered out the specific details of the species.
Her name is Riho, Which literally means frost-lace in the Skykar language. It is the Skylion word for the frost condensation on windows in the winter. (members of other species have given her the nickname "Lady Frost")

She is a member of the Skylion royal family... because I always wanted a badass space princess character. I'm normally against my personal characters wearing minimal clothing for no particular reason, but the Skylion actually do dress like that a lot of the time. They like wearing minimal clothing because it is easier for them to move in during flight.
