This is some concept art of an idea that's been floating around in my head for quite a while--well more like a few years actually--that I might insert into the Chipmunk Kingdom storyline somewhere in Tamias's timeline.
The Premise is that there is a bear who is a descendant of the Bear who Cast his vote for night. Now unlike that evil bear, this one is good. However since the blood of the evil bear flows through his veins he is burdened by the shame and guilt of his evil ancestor's sins and atrocities. Thus it has been his life long work to undo the damage done by the evil bear esp. the damage done to chipmunks by his evil ancestor's savagery.
Where it gets complicated for the good bear is Tamias the Chipmunk himself. The good bear knows full well the knowledge of Tamias's forgotten past as Norman Lee and of the horrific things done to him by the evil Bear. Perhaps the good Bear was also involved in Tamias's revival from suspended animation. Being that Tamias is the Chipmunk Chieftain and thus holds heavy influence upon the collective mindset of all chipmunks the good bear fears what may happen if he reveals Tamias's past to him.
However driven by his bid to lift the guilt off his shoulders he must divulge Tamias's past to the Chieftain. Also the good Bear must reveal the fact that he is a descendant of the evil Bear. Here we see them both at the Blood stone, the very spot where the evil Bear slain Hakooji the chipmunk who cast his vote for day, as the good Bear is about to divulge theses secrets to a concerned Tamias.
For Tamias himself, having his own past revealed to him by a descendant of the evil Bear may put him into the most difficult position in his entire life. After all he himself as Norman Lee took the full brunt of the evil Bear's wrath leaving him to rebuild from the complete and utter devastation he was left in. Also as Chipmunk Chieftain, Tamias is Hakooji incarnate and living embodiment of all chipmunk kind. It was Hakooji that died by the evil Bear's savage claw's as evident by the stripes etched in the backs of all chipmunks for all time. It was at a later time that Chipmunk Kind was devastated by the evil Bear as he took the guise of The Grand Bishop and lead the Inner Circle Take over of the Chipmunk Kingdom and nearly ended the Kingdom and nearly plunged the world into eternal darkness.
Yet this bear who is descendant of the Bear who Cast his vote for night is knelt before the Bloodstone and the Chipmunk Chieftain divulging the past to the chipmunk and is bagging for forgiveness of the guilts and sins of his ancestor.
The choice that Tamias would have to make right there and right on the spot would have sweeping remifications upon himself, the good bear, and the respective nations and species they represent and embody.

There DEFINITELY feels like there is a "part 2" to this somewhere down the road, I'm guessing, yesh?
After all, to simply leave this story hanging right where it is would feel pretty inconclusive.
But, yes... I echo the sentiment of the others. This story sounds quite deep, complex, and well written.
Shame they don't have people like you involved in the script writing for today's TV shows or movies... that way maybe we'd have better than what we have in the entertainment industry these days.

Awesome drawing, and the story is becoming even more interesting now that the Good Bear is introduced into the mix. This brings the ancient lore of the CK into the present. Tamias as Chieftan is going to have to deal with not only his past and the present but now the future as well.!
This is really a story worthy of an illustrated book. Please think about doing one.

That is definately a very very very deep concept. And a reflection of the very old and yet unsolved question if descendants have to carry the guilt of their ancestors. An question that I fear that will never find a universal solution. I guess each has to make his/her own decision on that.. And I hope Tamias does take the right choice. It must be hard to choice to trust that bear... but he really tries...
