See what I did there? *gigglesnorts* Yeah yeah, I'm a horrible person.
These however; are so not horrible!! Warm crab goodness with a crisp cup. With the Super Bowl coming up, or a friendly get together, try this wonderful appiteaser and it's sure to be a hit!! It has a west coast and east coast version for some of you that have never tried Old Bay Seasoning (THE HORROR! THE AGONY!!).
Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon canola oil
1/4 cup minced red bell pepper
1/4 cup minced onions
1 clove garlic, minced
6 1/2 oz lump crab meat
15 mini phyllo shells (for best results, don't fill the shells until you're ready to bake)
West Coast:
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 medium (2 oz) haas avocado, diced small
East Coast:
1/2 - 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (to taste: some like it subtle, others strong)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat the oil in a saute pan over medium heat. Saute the onion, bell pepper, and garlic until soft.
Add the crab meat, seasoning choice (OLD BAY DAMMIT!) and cook until the crab has been heated through, about 30 to 60 seconds.
Add about 1 heaping tablespoon of the crab filling to each phyllo shell. Arrange the stuffed shells on a baking tray, and bake for 10 minutes.
For West Coast: After baking, place 2-3 pieces of avocado on top.

I've tried to get imitation crab meat for sushi but so far my area doesn't stock it. I think I may have to go shopping in a more affluent area, it seems where I live that the general population are all low income based or retired. Too bad if I want to go all out on something mildly fancy. *hugs*
