that potted plant, LOOKS like a collocasia, or allocasia.

there's a variety of Collocasia, with dark purple foliage that gets several feet tall, it's called "black magic" I find that name rather fitting with that troll...to a degree.

granted the detail, I'm not gonna make any kind of claim on that plant, but that's what it looks like.

The edition I got from France cost me $270 (back when the euro was less than $1.20 to the buck), which I don't regret in ever buying (it is the most expensive book I own), even on my income (disability), but somehow someone scanned another edition of the book and the PDF is floating about online via torrents and Rapidshare. The book is written in an as-yet-undeciphered language, and resembles a small encyclopedia of a very bizarre and surrealistic world- Some of the art is funny, some just plain out there. :) It often inspires me so I don't have to have dull days. :)

Some libraries have copies, but usually in rare volumes- even though the book is not technically out of print.

(More recently, an 89-euro edition has come out from Italy, and is regarded as the cheapest- by price- of any edition... The artist/creator is an artist and designer from Milan who also is a professor of modern art in Calgary, Alberta... Long commute! :) )

Believe me, it's one VERY weird book, but often delightfully weird. :) Don't say I didn't warn you about just how weird its 320-some pages are! ;)

I really like the mix of styles. It'd be interesting to see a bit of a whole world sorta mixed like that... with like one colored character walking past in the background, or on a TV or something. ^.^
