In the darkened hallways, lit only by the flashing red lights, her soft footfalls padded silently down the concrete floor. Her sharpened fangs glistened with an eerie sparkle as her shadow passed over the blackened doors of the laboratory that had held her, strapped down and wracked with pain. It was distant, a fuzzy cloud numbed by the drugs they had tried pumping her with. The restraint on her wrist would serve as a reminded of that horrible place, her time before whited out in a unseen haze.
A CRACK as the bullet flew past her head into the bulkhead. She turned, her feline eyes burning in silent rage at the aggressor. A civilian, based on the inept way he grasped the rifle. He shouted something which she didn't try to understand and raised the gun again. The resolve left and turned to fear as she slashed his throat with her extended claws. He dropped to the floor, a glistening river running down his labcoat, reflecting the flashing red lights. She turned wordlessly and continued on her way.
They had tried once to retake the island from her after her rampage. For 4 days, she had crept the jungles and bunkers, taking them out one by one and adding their weapons to her arsenal. Some she kept, broken to her will as the foundations of her army. Others, she killed with ruthless efficiency. They would never let her live if she remained here in relative peace. It would be endless waves of killers until the attrition killed her. No, she would need to fight back, show nature's dominance of humankind. For that she would need an army, and a general to lead it.
