Well, that took forever. Made a small aluminum bracket to hold my old pair of glasses on the muzzle. It's only somewhat useful--gives me a small field of vision with correction right in front of me. It's a prop too, though, giving it a civilized and maybe a little bit faggy look.
Details: It's .025 aluminum, bent to shape in a small vise and shaped with a dremel. Nosepads on these glasses fit into a square peg, so I drilled a round hole and then used a smaller bit to nibble at the corners and square them off enough so that the nosepad pegs would fit though.
There's just BARELY enough play in the fitting to allow them to be screwed in with the extra thickness of the bracket in the way--I had to squish them in place with a needlenosed vicegrip to hold it while I attached the screws. It's not going anywhere this way! I was initally going to use E6000 to glue the pads to the frame, but I'm always a little dubious about glue when non-porous substances are involved.
The bracket is fastened to the muzzle with a pair of small screws through the fur and plastic canvas.
I plan to add the little chains that hold glasses on one's neck to increase the schoolmarm vibe. :)
