April Fool’s Prank # 5. Title says it all. Here is the loves of my life, my Mewthrees with their “favourite My Little Pony” characters (insert lots of sarcasm about them liking MLP anything. Actually, Mewblade might like really girly things. Which is a scary thought). This is what I posted instead of delivering the promised porn comics that I kept yapping about. And boy, does my skills at even semi-the actual art style ever suck.
Can anyone tell I hate drawing these characters by how bad they look? Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy aren’t too bad, but Twilight Sparkle looks drugged and Applejack may as well be a bug with those eyes. For those who don’t know any of the characters, left to right: Demisewan (with Pinkie Pie), Swadeaqua (with Rarity), Mewblade (with Twilight Sparkle), Vicebane (eating Rainbow Dash), Harddense (with Fluttershy and Applejack). Sort of matched based on personality, sort of. “Skittles: Taste the Rainbow (Dash)” is the only thing I even remotely like since honestly, it’s kind of funny. Everything else sucks, period.
Didn’t do the colored line thing since I lost the will to live at this point. Normally I’d shade and rouge my own characters, but sadly the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic style doesn’t actually use shadows almost ever, so it was a composite of blandness on top of blandness. Generally it does gradients, and very thickly weighted colored lines as its primary style focus. Had to pull back a lot to balance styles and the end result was I hate this image.
To anyone who goes: “Well I don’t like your characters, I like My Little Pony”, or “MLP is better than your weird Pokemon/Fakemon things”; well, we all like what we like for different reasons. Mewblade is on her 14th(made her in early 2000!) literal birthday now, with the rest being between 12 and 13 years, so I’ve known my boys and girls a lot longer than you all have know this iteration of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (aka MLP 2010). My Mewthrees are what I bond with, and that may never change. Consider the picture making peace with the Pony thing, and also saying adieu to it as part of my month-long prank. Tried it, hated it. There ya go, and the reason why is my own characters (250+ of whole slews of different creations) took that space first. Lots of love to my boys, girls, and those of undistinguishable gender.
On the plus side after a whole month of this horrible Pony stuff, it’s back to Mewthree and other work exclusively. And then maybe commissions... sorry.
