I am unreasonably excited by these. I had the idea late at night and immediately made two, then the next day I just had to make more. I ended up with one in every color of leather stain I have. (Plus an unstained one, plus gold acrylic paint.)

Then I hand-lettered some fortunes. For the first batch I kept them sincere and motivating, but I really want to do some sarcastic or surrealist ones.

As a side note, the initial idea I had for these was to make them out of acrylic plastic. If you heat acrylic in the oven to around 300°F, it becomes flexible and you can bend it to shape, then when it cools it hardens up again. So you could seal it around a little slip of paper, and the recipient would just have to be very firm in their resolve to get it out.
