Mule Deer Antler Dreamcatcher

Here we have a five point Colorado mule deer antler that has been turned into a wall hanging dreamcatcher with native american accents. Soft deerskin laces hang from it along with a smoke tanned wild-caught grey fox tail and a small strand of beads. The beads are sterling silver and sand tumbled red cerulean stones with a handcut agate arrowhead. Tiny silver beads dot the deer sinew web and a single timber grouse feather is 'caught' to represent a captured dream. A coyote pawprint and Chippewa sun symbol have been hand-painted on the antler beam in metallic silver.
This mule deer was an old stag; one can decipher this because the antler has a lot of craggy beading and 'ring hanger' spikes around the base. The 18 inch tall antler was salvaged in Utah from a mountain lion or coyote kill early this year. The antler was pretty bleached out so I restored the natural color with hand-applied walnut dye before being sealing it with a satin finish.
The grey fox tail was harvested in a free range hunt on foot that did not employ body gripping traps or dogs.
