My poor lil avatar in SL is a victim to my interests. one of which is steam punk.
When I decided that I would be building parts, the first thing I did was make new cyber limbs. Just using the orriginal parts of the avatar I'd bought. But then, as time went on, I learned new tricks. dabbled in scripting, and even reached a semi decent level of texture building.
In the end these were all put to use to make my first steam limbs, this being one of them.
The original particle effects (the ones shown here) were quite cheesy and have since been upgraded to a more steam like spray. Likewise the leg has been calibrated to have less clipping. (although it wasn't as bad as this picture makes it seem)
I also built a new foot to match the leg, making it a blend in a bit more.
Considering it was one of my first sci-fi scratch built body attachments though, I'm happy with how it turned out.
It has a very cool effect when you see the leg running along, blasts of steam shooting breifly out of the exhausts to every other foot fall.
