Interesting fact; the 'snakes' that St. Patrick drove out were not in fact snakes, as they are not indigenous to Ireland.

No, 'snakes' refer to the native Druidic priests, who used snakes in some rituals. So when St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland, out went the Druids.

Well, actually, that is a common misconception hidden within the error of a typo! See, everyone says he drove out the Snakes, but the problem is, they ad the 's' there, and forget there was just the ONE snake...
