BR No. 30053 is one of the two surviving M7 0-4-4 tank engines built by the London & South Western Railway. 30053 was built by the LSWR at their works at Nine Elms, in London, in 1905. As far as preservation is concerned, the engine is currently based at the Swanage Railway, in Dorset. But the photograph shows 30053 running around its train at Buckfastleigh during the SDR's recent (at the time of writing) gala.
