Description: Waterdeer are actually more canine than cervine, sharing with deers only the likeness of long limbs and elegant neck. They have webbed paws and a powerful tail that propels them in the water and prefer rivers and lakes to the salty waters of the ocean. Their peculiarity is that their coat changes colour during the day, adjusting to lighter colours during the morning and darker colours at night. Their markings, on the other hand, grow brighter in colour during the night and are very visible even in the dark. This is possibly an ability evolved for hunting. Temperament wise, Waterdeers are calm, peaceful creatures who like to laze around and groom each other all day.
