You never read Calvin and Hobbes? How could you not have read Calvin and Hobbes, you'd have to live in one of those stone age tribes that has never been contacted by civilization before to avoid that comic

More like I never read the actual strips themselves, I know OF them well. I guess I just never read enough papers to get anything other than Garfield and Far Side.

I've only read a few strips of that, it seemed okay

XD they mostly are the issue is some of the Regan era strips

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way.

I know, right? I mean, a lot of it is still good, but especially later on, the strip seemed to turn into some weird anti-corporate manifesto. It almost got insulting after a while, like Watterson looked down on the reader for daring to like t-shirts.

I liked the strips as they promoted use of the imagination, and reflected some of my childhood experiences. Of course there was the incident in 1987 where I was working at a shop building floats for the Rose Parade, and I read the Halloween strip where Calvin starts carving a pumpkin, and he stabs the gourd with a carving knife and yells, "All right Jack! Time for your Lobotomy!" I just "Lost it" and started laughing hysterically. The workers seated next to me moved away cautiously.
