There must be some entrance to that beach besides from the ruins too. There were a lot of people who looked like they were spending the day.

Yeah!! Is that frickin cool or what? Our guide told us it was supposed to be the sound the Quetzal bird makes.(I think he made up a little here and there... =p )

Man. You never realize the size of those pyramids 'til you see someone standing in front of them. It's quite an awesome picture overall, and I'm more than a little jealous!

Also, are those steps really as steep and insanely shallow as they look? I don't know whether they let anyone climb 'em, but it looks like you'd have to be in pretty good shape and have a terrific sense of balance to do so!

They are indeed very steep and too short for your whole foot to get on it. They don't let people climb them anymore because of vandalism, but my sister was there years ago when you still could. She didn't even dare try. But she said that nearly everyone who did climb them came down by scooting on their butts.

That's a beautiful temple, it woukd be awesome to go inside.

You used to be able to but the graffiti artists and vandals carving their initials in it made them rope off the most vulnerable ones. You can't even climb any of them anymore.

Darn those vagabonds.

Imagine climbing all those steps.

When the king gave a speech from on top he ouldn't have to worry about someone running up the stairs to attack him.

But yeah.......maybe they punished people by making them climb them over and over till they died or something.

I'd want to if I had to climb them over and over again.
