Sort of a proof of concept, really. Sounds like some kind of an into story to some kind of setting about a virus that is able to infect furries and turn them into plant-critter hybrids. :O

The Viridium virus isn't exactly "deadly" in the sense of other viruses - because if you think about it, if you're a parasitic lifeform, what benefit do you have in letting your host die? Instead the virus causes mutations in the host so that they can carry and possibly spread the virus as long as possible.
How can you avoid it? Well... same way you avoid any other virus: Avoid contact with infected surfaces or fluids. Such as a thorn from a mutated plant.

I actually didn't realize that... but knowing that, would you prefer the more sarcastic response or no? :P (Not that I dislike The Last of Us - I just don't like zombie apocalypse stories. I even banged my fist on the desk and said, "REALLY?" when Zomb-I mean "Risen" appeared in Fire Emblem Awakening.)
I'd likely be covering over some different themes. Since these mutants can actually think for themselves. :P

Hahaha, whatever's fine with me. : P
That reminds me... I still need to get that game... :/ A friend of mine was practically begging me to get it, but lack of money alongside a long list of games I've wanted more and for longer have been preventing it's purchase...
Sounds cool to me. I can see a lot of potential for many vastly different situations, all just as interesting as the others.
