My half of an art trade with
! I decided to do her pharaoh hound character Seth!
This is deceptively complex character. In addition to being the second feral I've ever done, the lines in Seth's facemask are a lot more complex than they first appear. I think I spent almost about as much time on that mask as I spent on Seth himself. I also ended up drawing on a lot of Okapi photo refs to get his leg striping and overall coloring right.
Anyway, I hope you like it!

Hahaha I completely agree! Deceptively complex is a great way to describe him!
He looks simple enough until you start drawing him ; v;
But you did a wonderful job interpreting him!
I really love the texture you've used and the silhouette behind him! (I love that you used red too ughhghg love that colour)
His body shape looks perfect! I love it!! ; w; thank you very much for trading with me!

Well thank you! I'm glad you like it! (︶ω︶)
Red was a color that fit his coloring but didn't blend together or draw away from anything else (and also is the color of his eyes, as best I can tell from the ref), and the silhouette was the cleanest way to add some accent colors to the background (as opposed to my "scribble like a madman" backgrounds).
There's a couple things I realized I should have asked about now and then just sorta made assumptions on. Are the dark lines in his hair highlights or was that a stylistic decision and contour lines?
Also thanks for reminding me to source my paper texture. Almost violated my Creative Commons license there.
But yeah, this was a really fun learning experience. Glad to have traded with you.

Yes well it worked very well indeed! :D And yes his eyes are red!
Ahh, the hair is entirely white - any black lines that look like highlights are just extra scribble hahah
excuse my style, it has little boundaries and I can see how that would have been misleading! ; ~;
I'm very happy you enjoyed it too! n____n
