I haven't watched or read Naruto in a long time, but I'm still very attached to the characters. Hinata is probably my favorite female character >w< I was thinking about why I like her, and came to the conclusion that it was because she could be adorable and/or strong depending on the situation. I compared this dual presence of calmness and strength to water, which can be soothing or powerful, and wanted to make a drawing out of it. I don't have nearly enough confidence in my human-drawing ability to draw the actual Naruto characters, though, so I made her an Espeon instead. I didn't have a color reference, so I hope I got the colors on the outfit right Dx

I had so much fun with this background! For this entire drawing, I tried a new technique with colored pencils, and I think it worked well. I kind of combined drawing and painting in that I used light blue and yellow to lay down the temperature and shadows first, then went over it with color. It was enjoyable, and personally I like how it turned out.
