Yes, so we got some snow over the past 24 hours. It's had power knocked out in most of the island and now things are coming back around. This may have been an null point if the power company had of had their generators running at more than 30% capacaty but hell what do i know? I mean it's not like we can expect cold, snowy weather in Canada at winter right?

Heh -- the only reason I know that off the top of my head is that the monitoring equipment we sell at my workplace has an operating-temperature range down to -40, so the fact that the bottom end of the temperature range was the same in both C and F was an amusing oddity I noticed when making the user manual.
Well it's just that if it's over 500 FPS you have to regester it as a firearm and really you wouldn't really need anything over that velocity to have a good game. My AK is 435 FPS and the M4 i have is 450 and they both have high accuracy up to 50 yards. I had a sniper rifle for it too and that one was good for up to 100 yards at 490 FPS
I was wearing locust style goggles for eye protection and after the first time i started wearing my Shemagh up on my face but in for the other times I was behind a wall at an abandoned campground and i took the scarf off to adjust it when one of the guys came around the corner and blasted three of us with an automatic. The other time it was the dumbass of the group who didn't know his gun was loaded and ended up shooting me in the face.
But it's snow, it's soft, cold, you can throw it at people. Dive into it, make snow angels, power slide your car through it, dig in it, etc. etc. And because people stay indoors there is more time for D&D and other fun stuff. If you have a fireplace, and a girlfriend, you got auto romance moment set up.
Ha! Down here in central Texas, they'll close roads and schools (and a lot of businesses will actually cancel work shifts) if we get more than about an eighth of an inch!
(Although to be fair, it's mostly because it happens so rarely -- maybe once every 3-4 years, on the average -- that most people who live here really don't know how to drive on icy roads, and due to the geography and layout of the city, it's nearly impossible to get from point A to point B without having to go over at least one bridge, overpass, or road going up or down a fairly steep grade. Yes, believe it or not, not all of Texas is flat, dry desert. Up in the northern part of the state, where Dallas and Ft. Worth are, they get that kind of weather much more frequently, so they have trucks to spread de-icing compound on the roads and all that. Down here in Austin, our "de-icing trucks" are a couple of convicts shoveling sand out of the back of a dump truck. )

Oh dear god there was. Estimates were from between 2 to 5 k to repair it. (The insurance folks said "quick patch job, 250$. You have no idea how pissed the folks were about it.) Later that week we lobbed ourselves into it from the neighbors 2 ish story wooden fort they built for their kids.
Holy CRAP!

Yeah we're relatively OK. We've got blackouts happening periodically since Friday, Schools shut down till Wendsday, Some 30000 homes that have been without power since this started (and that's homes, not individuals) and yet, accordint to the Premier of the Province, everything is just peachy
