Recently, I've been making Squiby Adoptables based on Miraj and Torun. But the toruns I drew were different from my normal style. They use leaf umbrellas, short legs, and a bit of drooping fat over their feet. And when I thought of it, I actually kind of liked it more than my usual style of Torun. As well, it is also similar to September's old design. ...Which I discarded. The "rolls of fat over short, stubby legs" is pretty adorable when done right, but it was not done right when I did it. In addition, it did NOT fit Septembers personality. Actually, September looked HIDEOUS in her old style.
...But, I tried again with a look similar to her old. But don't worry very few people who care, I aint changing September's design. Instead, the one on the right will be a completely different character. And the one on the right will ALSO be a sub-species of the regular toruns.
At one time, ALL toruns were like the one on the right. But one day a group of toruns left their slow-paced region to live in a more rocky terrain, which after a millenium of living in the mountains eventually shaped Bokun Toruns, the longer-legged cousins of the Nobun Toruns. Nobun Toruns are stronger and more magically adept than the more common Bokun Toruns, but are slow and highly ungainly. Fortunately, with no true predators, a healthy system and nice flat terrain to live in, Nobun Toruns didn't need the leg strength of the Bokun Toruns.
The torun on the right, who ironically is named September Emaraj, is the princess of a large kingdom of tree-dwelling Nobun who created a huge city in the Great Endless Forest. Emaraj is coincidentally similar to Amirun, in that she's adept to heat-based magic. However, Emaraj is a lot more calm and laid-back. But she also harbors the disadvantages of being a Nobun Torun, and she's not as serious of a mage/fighter as Amirun is.
