Winter was not a fond time for Fenrir. the wolf always takes to wandering whenever snow falls and he is alone, remembering old times in Asgard and Vanaheim with mixed emotions, thinking of papa-loki, and step mother Sigyn, his big sister Jourmandgandr, even his half brother Sleipnir. gone.. somewhere out beyond the realm he's found himself in, this realm outside the nine realms of Yggdrasil.

this Yuletide his sulky wanderings found him passing through a decorated bit of town in the dead of night, the snow drifts not yet ploughed to clear the roads. crunching through the pristine snow, watching the colored lights blink on the houses, his mind wandered back in time to Yule celebrations with his Family, before the Aesir and Vanir turned on them. hunting with Garmr, Geri, and Freki in the Wild Hunt along side Thor and Odin, dressing as Joulupukki with papa-Loki to play pranks on the naughty and leave gifts for the good (Odin always got pranked.. lots of fun!)..

The wolf almost missed the small glint of light coming from the snow on the side of the road. stopping, he bent over and picked it up. it was a light bulb, a large yellow one. it wasn't in a string, nor did it have any sort of battery.. but it was lit with a faint, flickering light, like that of a flame. almost like.... Papa-Loki's eyes. the burning, fiery light within that always gave papa-loki away when he changed forms, or used magic.

a sign, and a gift. looking at the illumination, he felt his heart lighten. "Thank you Papa.. i've not forgotten you either, and i love you too."

this was a freebie chibi from  ZoraLynn, won as runner up prize after one of her Raffles. it was completed as a holiday themed image due ot the timing of when it was made.. the image a lovely cute one she came up with, which inspired this story.
