a short time ago i created an secondlife account, since i keep seeing all these really fun screencaps and see people talking about it. i figured it was worth checking out. i did some searching through the SL store before i started, i figured i'd come up with an avatar appearance before i immersed myself. this is what i came up with.

this shot was taken outside the University in Caledonia. i picked that steampunk area as my starting point because i rather enjoy steampunk, and because the description sounded like it would have a good community of people who'd not take a noob's mistakes too seriously. (there were no furry areas on the recommended starting zones, oddly.)

Thus far i've not named this character, though i'd love to have him drawn up as a proper fursona eventually. my love of the Indiana Jones/Adventuer style is evident, i used parts from several adventure themed costume sets i found relatively cheap to get the style. he's supposed to be a Coyote, but i used a wolf body style to make him.

i hope to have some better images of him soon.

Update: finally decided to name him Basil, after Basil Rathbone, the actor. Rathbone is most famous for portraying Sherlock Holmes (and was one of the best ones to play that character, IMO), but also had roles portraying other characters by the same author, such as Professor Challenger from the Lost World, one of the spiritual predecessors to Indiana Jones.
