One of the American hawks known as ‘chicken hawks’, the Red-Tailed Hawk has 14 subspecies in all the environments it occupies. They are the most common bird in North America to use for falconry, and also are very important to some key stories in the mythology of south-western native nations.

I remember making a game out of counting them whenever my parents would take me somewhere in the car (which was a lot, since living up near Yosemite meant that you sorta HAD to drive to get anywhere haha).
The highest I can remember from a half-hour drive down to Fresno had to have been at least 15 of those things.
I still think they're awesome... and I sorta miss seeing them. I mostly have Ospreys and Red-Shouldered Hawks where I live now.
(By the way, I LOVE the style you've been drawing these birds in!)
