I like my djellaba very much as well, though it is slightly short for me in Moroccan standard. Perhaps I should buy another one, in dark blue or green this time.

Yes, I would certainly recommend Morocco for a visit. But if you are planning to visit obscure places like this kasbah, then some French or colloquial Arabic would be handy, since few people speak English outside major cities.

It was built in the year 1710 or 1711. So, it is approximately 300 years old. Not so distant past, I'd say. It seems that Islamic civilizations were apt at preserving cultural features they adopted from the lands they conquered.
