Proximal end of a banana inflorescence/infructescence.
The lesions on the berries probably have developed due to low temperature. It seems that low temperature and frost can be an issue for cultivating cold sensitive crops such as bananas and avocadoes in Doukkala region.
I could neither identify which species the mantis is, nor find out what is its local name; it seems that most of the people here are generally uninterested in organisms that has little practical usage or perceivable economic value, content in just calling them 'bugs' or 'weeds'.

While bananas can be produced without protection in regions outside that limit by utilizing microclimates and choosing cold resistant cultivars, it is undeniable that commercially viable production is generally restricted within that limit. I heard that in morocco, unprotected cultivation of bananas is limited to regions around Agadir, and production in other regions is mostly done under plastic.
Considering that photographed plant is not a cultivar grown commercially in Morocco(cultivars commonly grown here commercially are cultivars that belong to AAA group, such as ‘Giant Cavendish’, ‘Dwarf Cavendish’, and ‘Poyo’, as in most parts of the world), I think it was planted as an ornamental or a specimen for students.

Some people just want to believe everything someone with confidence tells them.
I'm sure nature has something squirting urine making blind people in the process and there are thousands of poisonus creatures poisoning people, but matis aren't doing that, poor misunderstood mantis.
