6/3/2014: New participation in the mentorship program is currently on hold while we evaluate whether to continue the program as-is, make modifications, or replace it with something else. Watch the forums for announcements.
Interested in being mentored by an experienced writer? Or are you looking to find a similarly-experienced/skilled author to work with? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then the FWG Mentorship/Partnership program is for you! Please fill out this questionnaire and follow the instructions to submit it. While we may not have a mentor or partner for you right away, we will hold onto the application for when we do.
Do you think you have what it takes to be a mentor? Please email me at furwritersguild@gmail and talk to me.

I'm definitely interested! I wasn't entirely sure what "double line break" meant, though. I figured it meant hit "enter" twice after the paragraph break, instead of just once, 'cause I didn't see anything in my word processor's Paragraph format window that would do that for me.
That's exactly what it means. I'm copy/pasting these into a forum, and the forum doesn't exactly recognize paragraphs. I does sometimes randomly, but not most of the time. The extra line break will post a story like most do here on FA or in an email. Makes it easier to distinguish paragraphs.
We'll see what we can do. Not many of the current mentees said that they'd be willing to partner with someone of an equal skill level, but I'll let you know if any do.
The way is works is pretty simply. Two similar-leveled writers partner up to share their strengths and weaknesses with each other, and hopefully each can bring a different strength to the table that the other lacks. They can research ways to improve together, give each other feedback, and act as a pillar of support for each other.

It all depends when a pairing becomes available. We have a couple partnerships we are currently looking into, but we want to make sure there's something both members would be getting out of it.
As far as mentors go we still have a couple who haven't picked someone they want to work with yet. When they pick their mentee will be told.
So to answer your question, the timing is very random.

It depends on what help the mentee needs. If a mentee needs help with character development and they mentor excels in world building, the pairing would be rather useless. It's about waiting for someone who fits the pairing to come along. The mentors all pick their own mentees, so it's completely up to them.
