Here is a view looking forward towards the locomotive and featuring the new combination car. Aesthetically these cars look wonderful and better match what one would have seen in the early 1860s for passenger equipment. No raised celestory, just a simple radial roof. The interior of the coaches look very nice as well and feature directional seats. (the proper term eludes me at the moment) The seat backs can be repositioned to face whatever direction of travel you prefer.
My only real gripe about the cars are the trucks and frames. Cars of the period had wooden frames supported by truss rods under them. The trucks are of the Bettendorf design and are from retired and/or scrapped freight cars, which made the train fairly rough riding. But that's a relatively minor gripe as the overall experience distracted me from such minor details. Wonderful cars none the less.
