*Sarcasm* Yeah, sorry. Sorry that I choose to draw something other then anime. I'm sorry for not stealing an anime cartoon's style instead of working hard every day to develop my own. Sorry that I don't want to be thrown in the vast field of anime artists who all have the same style. Yes, I apologize for trying to draw something original. Sorry that I made you call me names such as, "weirdo" "crazy" "loony" because my pictures are cartoony. Sorry that my gallery is avoided because there isn't one big blue eyed, pink haired cat girl to look at. I must be daffy. How can I be a furry and not draw anime!?! What the hell is wrong with me!?! I'm just a nutcase. *End sarcasm*.

Fan biys/girls? Like I will ever be known in the fandom. Almost everyone is either an anime cartoonist or an real antro artist like Goldenwolf. I feel sorry for her (and kyoht) too because everyone is stealing her amazing style.
My criticism here is that I am basically sick and tired of being called "odd" and people avoiding me because I don't draw anime. I looked around, like DA and see some crappy anime artist with three times as much page and image views then I do and they have been there for a couple months (me, a year). Of course, nothing will change because I made this. Just wanted to speak my mind.

now if you want watches and +favs , how about drawing a little EYECANDY

But, you look like you're just emulating syles that aren't anime... primarily Crumb and Kricfalusi, but a few other illustrators whose names I can't remember come to mind as well.
Why care, anyway? Most anime is devoid of artistic merit, so why pine about not getting the views from people who generally seek it?
Start figuring out your own voice, and you won't be overlooked.

I wish it was that easy. I have have tried. I am on almost every art site and I still get my, "this is weird O_o;" " You are insane" comments. I'm sorry but I'm very self-conscious about my artwork and it just hurts when folks don't even care to acknowledge that I worked hard on it.
Didn't mean to make it sound like it's easy. It's a ton of work, but essentially all you have to do is experiment the hell out of everything and be extremely self-critical. It's a relatively simple process that takes a good chunk of time and should theoretically never really stop.
Personally, I like your style of cartoons. It's odd, it's wacky and it's unique. It's downright scary sometimes but that's okay.
Now me, I have a lot of anime influences as well as some american cartoon influences as well. Yes, people will label my stuff as animeish, because i suppose it is, but I try to do my own thing as best as I can.
Now if you're looking for a unique style of anthros (which mine take off of a bit, he's one of my major influences) then look at the work of David Hopkins. https://www.pholph.com
Anyway, I like your stuff and you're quite good at what you do. Just keep up the hard work and even if you're never known, just be satisfied with what you do. ^_^

You're not insane, and it's not weird to want your own style.
The most amazing thing I've noticed is that you seem to be a true comic artist; nobody's writing your stories for you.
Keep going and working at it, and remember there are people watching you who don't think your work is weird or insane.

That's what I meant.
People who can't draw anything BUT anime-style sadden me, especially when they're criticizing others for not doing the same. Though in my case, it isn't so much about ability than disability, since my only attempt at anime style was horrible and should have never existed.
That drawing was exterminated as abomination.

I myself have no problem with telented anime artist. People who are rather good at drawing anime IS their style and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not saying anime is something to stay away from or is bad or anything. What I mean people whos stuff is OBVIOUSLY something stolen from an anime. I always thought that as being lazy. I probably don't have a real style yet I mean, I'm only 16 but I try everyday by just plan drawing. I'm still a practicing artist so anatomy references sometimes is still a must but I try and try and I just hope one day, I will be somehow rewarded for it. With what? I don't know....
Hiiiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaa!!!!! Just got back from A.C., and came back here to follow up on the threads going on here over this piece. The arguement here, as I see it, is not over or about what's art or what isn't. It's about what's commercial, i.e., what sells, and what's art or just good drawing. A.C., is crowded with artists flailing away at what they think is good Anime style art because the like it and it SELLS!! Let's face it everybody, it's what a lot of people want and it SELLLLLLLLLS!! It's not what I want to do and won't do it even for money. (well, I don't think I would but no one's asked me so that's a moot point. just so ya know) What I like to do is not what the anime people want and that's fine. (fact is, what I like to do doesn't get a lot of furries excited either but it's what I like to do so I'm gonna do it and to hell with anyone who doesn't like it anyway. I don' say that in a bad way you understand) I did some sketches at the con, one in particular, that I'll be posting and not too many people in FA are gonna like it but so what. Where I think you may be missing something in this arguement has to do with who you think you're aiming your drawings at. You might want to consider a different type of audience when you send this stuff out into cyberspace and, more importantly, if you want to do something with it, what you put into a portfolio to show around. Your stuff is HILARIOUS and the crowd for it would seem to be more along the independent newspaper and magazine comics crowd that would appreciate the oblique humor in just about all of your stuff. Remember "LIFE IN HELL" that became THE SIMPSONS? or Zippy the Pinhead, or CULTURAL JET LAG? Well, yer stuff slants right along those lines (and a lot of other related lines we see in animation on the Fox T.V., wasteland) So, stop worrying about what some other Anthro-art lovers are paying money for and "sell" to your strengths!! And believe me, there's a lot more here than your arguement indicates you're aware of!!!!!
