i want a hug. in 1953, the year of that car, i was 5 years old, and along with f-7's and pa-1's the railroad was still running some ac-9, 11, and 12's.
f7s were emd freight diesels, pa1's were on the passenger trains, and the ac stood for articulated consolodation, and were the cab forward 4-8-8-2's, that were popularly, though inaccurately refered to as malleys. the last of the big steam that were still in helper and snow service. oh and e.m.d. was the electro-motive dividision of the same general motors who's chevtolet devision built that car.
