sounds really good mind me asking what you're using for your bass I ended up spending 400 bucks on Native Instruments Komplete in hopes it would have something for good bass in the only thing that had was massive and massive is more for dubstep bass this is more drum n bass. it's something I really need and have been looking for
Thanks!
And really the answer is there's no magic trick VST that will do a specific "style" of bass for you, every synth has it's strengths and weaknesses and it's all down to how you use them.
With Komplete you're more than capable of making any bass you'd like.
>The basses for this song though are made a few different ways but it general comes down to using the ableton Vocoder and playing with vocoding things on other things and playing with how they effect the sound. That and layering.
the main sound is Massive vocoded onto a sound I made in FM8, another one's using a reaktor synth called Green Matrix and vocoding that onto an FM8 synth - heh one of the synths (the really grindy-ish sounding one) is actually made from vocoding a kick onto a sound I made in Razor (a reaktor synth, great for basses).
Honestly the best advice I can give you is play around with your synths and not just the synth itself but ways you can effect the sound, a lot of basses in bass heavy music are heavily based on how you post process the original bass sound, to the point where it sounds nothing like the original sound made in the synth. Compression, saturator, and EQ (you'd be surprised how you can effect sounds by modulating an EQ underneath some heavy overdrive) are your best friends.
