The nice thing is that it's all volunteer based. So you can choose what projects you pick up. I've been doing a lot more heavy lifting since they promoted me, but we need people for small stuff, polish work, etc. We've been using Trello cards to organize, and it's a lot of fun. :)
I disagree there -- but we all play to our strengths. Some folks are just better at portraits are avatars, while others work strictly on items. Or web art. We lay out available projects, and people can elect to take on whatever they feel comfortable with. We also offer feedback and training, provided the base talent is there (and I definitely think you have it).
I started an app... and then disconnected before filling out the pixel bit >_> Then again, I need to make sure I have samples. I stick to diff art for the most part and don't often go smaller than pixels. Even then, I'm not good for much more than tweaking and scening ;_; Creating items and stuff I doubt myself HARD on. I'll still give it a shot once I have files to give D:
It's worth writing your application out in Word or something so you have time to really fill in some good answers. If you're genuinely interested, it's worth at least trying to apply. At the very least, you'll get some constructive feedback from a really good group of people. :)
