Huh.. never really tried drawing the head last :o usually that's where I start. I'll have to give that tip a try

the main thing is that drawing the head locks the pose for me. if i want to have a really dynamic and/or intense pose, its almost always better to draw the body first. mark where the head is, but make it something you'll erase without a second thought. I tend to make the head either too small or in the wrong place compared to the body, so it becomes much more practical to draw it after i have the whole pose sketched out.

that isnt to say you cant draw the head first. I've just noticed that it's easier for me to draw it after other things.

Well that might be part of the reason I have so much trouble with action poses or dynamic pictures. Either way I'll definately have to give it a try :3
