This is the colored version of the work-in-progress pic I'm doing for my friend Trekkie. I'm going for a more simple, cartoony look here.
With this piece, I'm exploring a new technique I learned at an art class at FurCon '08: the 'thin-thick-thin' rule. From what I understand, it means that your lines should start thin, go thick in the mid-section, then taper out to thin again. If you look closely, I tried to implement the thin-thick-thin rule in my inks on this piece.
I don't know what everyone else thinks, but following that rule really adds some subtle life and polish to the picture.
