So about a year and a half ago my sweet kitten ran away during a storm. I looked for him once It started calling for him and biking around the block, after an hour of searching I just assumed he was under the house or something.
2 weeks had passed and he never showed up..I started to think he has gotting hit by a car or taken in by someone else..my heart was broken to bits.
It had been a year and a half now and I've missed him every day.
Yesterday at around 9pm I was out geocacheing with my little brother and I herd yowing as I was digging through the bushes, I looked up and to my surprise there was my kitty..mewing and yowimg at me.
My eyes filled with tears, he was just the same as he was a year ago..I got my baby back. When I brought him back home he rubbed against everything he used to sleep on and curled up in his old box after a good meal. I missed him so much.
Him when he was 7weeks old right after I got him.

Next time, try putting ads up on craigslist, posting wanted posters and checking your local animal shelter for a found pet report or in case he was placed up for adoption by someone else.
While it often feels like there's nothing we can do when a pet runs away, we do have the power to even the odds. More people looking means more chances to find them!
You also could get your pets a collar with ID or microchip them.
