so this is a little different to my usual stuff. I had written this a little while back, during a rather tough time. It's about a rather special person, and the feelings/thoughts that go on between us. I hope you like it!!
The Poetry of One’s Own
The fractures of my mind have been burnt to a crisp,
Insanity will reach its mark.
Though one wolf can change this painful truth,
Only he can bend its course.
The wind howls and tears through his fur,
As he journeys through the darkness.
‘Be with me’ he hears in his thoughts as he pictures me there.
Waiting there; shimmering strong,
I embrace him in my arms.
Yet this contact could not last,
For a force will drive us apart.
We scramble for each other; blind,
For which we could not see.
Yet sight we do not need,
For we can feel each other near.
Our calls to each other were muffled by the dark,
Voices falling short.
Cries were heard in our hearts,
Time seemed to cease.
Then a paw was lightly touched,
The pulse beating strong.
It closed tight around my hand,
The love was pouring out.
We made a pact; and agreed,
To never leave alone.
Our lives are too important risk another death.
“There is too much hurt in this world,
For us to live in peace”.
“But we cannot just give in,
When we are so close”.
The black was closing in fast,
Eager to separate again.
We ran; paw in hand, To escape our demise.
The wolf stopped his pace,
And pulled me into his arms.
“We cannot continue running as cowards,
We must face our fears and live”.
We stopped, we hugged, we felt, we loved.
We didn't care what the end would be, so long as we are one.
