I am still kinda new here though and I don't know how to make it my icon while still having it be flashing and stuff..

I can totally help with that!

click the little 'download' link under the picture, right click the icon and select 'save as' make sure to save it somewhere you can find it easily

next you go to account management in the 'my fa' menu and select upload/change avatar, click the 'browse' button and find the icon you saved earlier, click submit. the new icon should show up on the menu below, click on it to set it as your avatar. you may need to press f5 for it to display correctly.
